How to convert HEIC to PNG
- Add your HEIC photos. Drop them onto the box or choose them from your device.
- PNG is selected. PNG saves the decoded pixels without further lossy compression. There is no quality slider for PNG.
- Convert and save. Click Convert images and save each PNG, or download the batch as a ZIP.
When is PNG the right choice?
Choose PNG when you will keep editing the image, when it contains text or sharp graphics, or when the destination asks for PNG. For ordinary photos that you only need to share or upload, JPG is much smaller and usually enough.
Expect larger files
A photo saved as PNG is often several times bigger than the same photo as JPG. If you need to reduce the size, use the custom size option to lower the pixel dimensions, or choose JPG or WebP instead.
A note on transparency
Photos do not normally have transparent areas, so a PNG made from a HEIC photo will look the same as the original. PNG would keep transparency if the source had any.

Is PNG better quality than JPG?
PNG does not use lossy compression, so it does not lose further detail when saved. It cannot restore detail that is not in the decoded HEIC image, and the files are much larger.
Why is my PNG so big?
PNG stores every pixel without lossy compression. Use a custom pixel size to make it smaller, or choose JPG or WebP for photos.
