How to convert HEIC to WebP
- Add your HEIC photos. Drop them onto the box or choose them from your device.
- WebP is selected. Use the quality slider: 80 to 90% is a good range for website images.
- Convert and save. Click Convert images, then save each WebP or download a ZIP.
Why use WebP on a website?
Images are usually the heaviest part of a page. WebP files are typically smaller than JPG or PNG at similar quality, so pages load faster. Faster pages are better for visitors and for ad landing pages, where every second of load time can cost you clicks that you paid for.
Resize before you upload
A phone photo is often 4000 pixels wide, far more than a website needs. Use the custom size option to set a width such as 1600 pixels. The file becomes much smaller without a visible change on most screens.
Check where it will be used
All current major browsers display WebP, but some older programs, email tools and upload forms do not accept it. If a platform rejects WebP, convert to JPG instead.
