Performance Marketing News: 27 October 2026 Roundup
In short: On 27 October 2026 the main performance-marketing updates were Shopify's Knowledge base moving into store admin, Meta's API v26 deadline and US political ad restriction, Pinterest's Programmatic Deals, beehiiv's programmatic podcast ads and Bluefish's Paid Media Briefs. Most need a check, not a panic.
- Shopify: review the facts AI shopping agents receive about your store.
- Meta: test API integrations, and note the US-only political ad restriction.
- Pinterest: Programmatic Deals are live in select markets, with India eligibility unconfirmed.
- beehiiv and Bluefish launches are early signals, with no proven performance uplift yet.
1. Shopify moves the AI-agent Knowledge base into admin
Merchants can now review, edit and publish the facts AI shopping agents receive about their store at Sales channels > Agentic > Knowledge base. Drafts stay unpublished until approved. The standalone Knowledge Base app retires after 15 January 2027. Do this: audit shipping, returns, gifting and contact facts. Details in our AI shopping agents guide.
2. Meta API v26 changes reach older versions
A scheduled 27 October milestone applies several v26 removals to older supported API versions. Poll-ad creation, some Messenger Stories placements, delivery-estimate fields and old commerce endpoints are involved. Do this: test your ad tools. See the integration audit.
3. Meta's US political ad restriction begins
From 27 October to 3 November, new US ads about social issues, elections or politics cannot start serving, and live ads can only have bids, budgets, end dates and status changed. It is US-only. Read the full explanation.
4. Pinterest launches Programmatic Deals
Selected display and video inventory is now available through Google DV360, Amazon Ads DVA+ and Yahoo DSP in select markets. India eligibility is not confirmed. What Indian agencies should know.
5. beehiiv adds programmatic podcast ads
beehiiv launched dynamic ad insertion, programmatic monetisation and sponsorship management on paid plans, with no minimum download requirement. Creators can replace ads in older episodes. Advertiser self-service access and India buying availability were not established.
6. Bluefish adds Paid Media Briefs
Bluefish's enterprise platform now links how brands appear in Google and ChatGPT answers with paid-media recommendations. No independent performance uplift was shown, and broader integrations are still in development. The useful idea is free: ask AI assistants your customers' buying questions and compare the answers with your ads and landing pages.
