Is AI Search Traffic Worth It? What a 100-Site GA4 Study Found
A Marie Haynes analysis of 12 months of GA4 data across 100 sites found ChatGPT referrals equal to 0.62% of Google organic session volume, with a higher reported conversion rate (13.8% vs 3.02% on 55 sites). Google organic still produced about 27 times more conversions. AI search is worth preparing for, but it is not yet a replacement for Google traffic.
